Our Missionaries

The Echerds have been members of Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1972, assigned to SIL International — the Wycliffe partner organization whose international headquarters is in Dallas. They have served more than 17 years overseas in Peru, Honduras, Guatemala, and South Asia, as well as at the international headquarters.
Steve is presently one of the senior consultants of SIL’s work in the Americas, focusing on giving technical assistance to the First Peoples of Canada, Native American tribes in USA, and mentoring and training local leaders. He is also an organizational development consultant to Christian organizations and leaders of local indigenous communities.
Pam is an educational consultant, mentoring Latin Americans in updating the training of new workers in the Bible Translation movement, with a particular emphasis on helping those who need to learn other languages.
Steve and Pam reside in Dallas and through travel and virtual technology minister to leaders in the US and Canada, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. The Echerds have been active members of Trinity Church since 1984.
